Delicious Pasta Alfredo Recipe

In 1914 in the grand city of Rome, you can find a man with a vision. This vision is to introduce the Pasta Alfredo recipe to the curious yet skeptical Roman townsfolk.

This wonderful dish has many secrets attached, one of the most interesting is the fact that this Pasta Alfredo recipe was created to reintroduce food to an otherwise uninterested pregnant wife.

Alfredo Di Lelio opened a restaurant in a busy location in Rome looking to inspire the hungry to try his dish, what they did not realize is that this dish was originally created for his wife who lost her appetite when carrying Alfredo's child.

So Simple Its Almost Insulting

While there are countless recipes out there that cater to those that enjoy this dish world wide, the reality of the dish is that it is so simple to make it is almost insulting.

In fact if you were to take a tour through Italy, you would find that you would draw several blank stares from restaurant staff when you ask for Pasta Alfredo. This is because there really was nothing to the recipe; in fact it is so easy it is actually not considered a recipe at all to the Italians.

There are several ways to introduce this recipe into a home under a new look. The addition of ingredients such as garlic and parsley may spice this meal up, yet it still cannot mask its simplicity and ease of preparation.

The Plain Old Truth

When it comes to the Pasta Alfredo recipe, it is about time to dispel the myth of its detailed recipe. The fact is this dish takes mere minutes to prepare, and only consists of three ingredients.

A fine egg noodle generally makes the base of the meal and it is usually called Fettuccine or Tagliatelle. This is a fine egg noodle with a ribbon shape. The noodles are then basically smothered in Butter; yes you heard that right, simple butter. The final ingredient however can in fact make the difference in the dish, dependent on whether or not it is fresh or aged.

Finely grated Parmigiano cheese makes up the final ingredient and to be true to the original recipe really should be aged cheese. There are not other ingredients to this dish, and for some reason people world wide go crazy for it. Many assume that this is a very complicated dish due to its presentation and taste, but it is nothing more than a ten-minute meal.

Oh The Fame Of It All

It is funny that something so simple as the Pasta Alfredo recipe, and that really has no place in an Italian menu according to opinion has taken the world by storm. The Pasta Alfredo recipe or lack there of, for this fine dish is as popular as it was when it was created in 1914. Some of the most regal film and music celebrities have been captured on film enjoying this dish at the very place of its introduction 94 years ago.

With the likes of Sophia Loren, Liz Taylor, and Ava Gardner all being targets of the paparazzi photographers, enjoying this dish at Afredo's fine restaurant seems to be testament to the longevity and success of this dish that few knew was nothing more than a mere throw together.
