Make Your Own Pasta
from Italian Traditional Food

Making your own pasta is economical

If you are Italian there are few things as rewarding as making your meals from scratch, and one sure-fire way to really boost your confidence is making your own pasta. There are many things that can be made from scratch in the kitchen of an Italian home, with sauces generally being the top of the list.

More and more Italians today however, are finding that it is more beneficial for them to make their own noodles for each specific meal as it makes the dish seep with freshness.

Making your own pasta can be a fun way to spend an afternoon with family members, but it must be noted that it can be quite the process at times. If you do not have the patience to work with the pasta while it is damp, you will surely ruin your pasta and have no other alternative than to start again.

Flavors, Flavors And More Flavors

What is truly wonderful about making your own pasta at home is that you do not have to rely on the few flavors that the store will offer. There are a lot of flavors that can actually be added to pasta, yet so few stores actually use them.

There are several dishes that would benefit by the use of flavored pasta, and this is where it is great for you to make your own. You have the opportunity to use virtually any flavor that your heart desires, and whatever you feel will work is what is destined to be incorporated.

It is well known that the more flavorful and robust the pasta, the more experienced the maker is. This is also said with the way the noodles are cut after they are pressed through the pasta roller.

More Shapes Than A Geometry Test

When you are thinking about making your own pasta at home, you are going to have a slew of choices in regards to the shapes you wish to go with. The fact is there are more shapes to choose from for your pasta, than a school geometry test.

You can go with the traditional spaghetti style noodles that are long and thin, or you can go with something interesting and try some custom shapes that can also include soothing never done before. This makes the meal a different event at the dinner table every night, and you will receive rave reviews from family and friends alike.

Mechanical Or Electric Its Your Call

One of the biggest questions you will come across in your quest in making pasta at home is how you are going to make it. There are several ways that this can be done, and while it is possible for you to do it the old fashioned way it is anything but simple.

Rolling out pasta from hand as they did many years ago is very hard on the hands; this is why many choose to use a mechanical or electric pasta-rolling machine.

While both of these machines are great at doing the job, there are many perks to both machines individually. The electric rolling machine is very versatile, but it does not always offer the best of functionality and ease of use. In regards to the manual roller, you will have to put a little elbow grease into each task you perform.
