Anyone that has a love for Italian pasta, surely knows that it is a love affair that goes beyond the simple spaghetti or lasagna. As a matter of fact, there are several different forms of pasta that actually must be matched with the appropriate form of sauce to get the most out of the dish you are preparing today. There are basically two different forms of pasta sauce that people are most familiar with, the red tomato sauce and the white sauce such as Alfredo. While it is not law or an absolute requirement to ensure that the noodle you choose meets some sauce must, it does however make things a little easier if the sauce compliments the pasta you are using. Mixed OpinionsWhile it is usually known that when you are going to mix the right pasta with the right sauce, you are going to run into differing opinions on the matter. Some will say that small noodles such as spirals or bowties have no place in sauce that is red, others will contest that this is completely acceptable. Finding the right mix boils down to one thing, and that is region. Where you are from in Italy will dictate what noodle you are going to use with what sauce. If you are in Rome for example, you will more than likely find that the smaller noodles such as the ones mentioned above have a home in sauce that is white and creamy. This is the way that the Roman city enjoys this form of pasta, but there is another problem that rears its head in this argument. Pasta Alfredo is something that is very popular in the capital city of Italy, and that happens to be Rome. This fine long noodle dish with its creamy butter and cheese sauce basically tears this opinion to pieces and brings you back to noodle square one. Red Sauce Is Divine When you are looking to introduce pasta to a red sauce, you will quickly find that you need to worry less about this union than that of a white sauce mix as they both can be considered the right sauce. Tomato sauces regardless of their regional origins, just seem to accept any form of noodle far easier than a good white sauce. This makes this red sauce far more versatile, and much easier to work with. You can serve this sauce with any form of pasta today, and not have to worry about offending anyone that is traditional. From house to house, the red sauce could vary greatly but one thing will keep them similar and that is the many different forms of pasta that it entertains. No Disappointments Whatever sauce color you choose, you will quickly find that the right sauce is the one that you choose to offer your guests and family with confidence that the meal will offer the wow factor. Pasta sauce seemingly has its own food group, when it comes to breaking down its importance to the culinary world. The Italians will swear by their own sauce, and the neighbor next to them will actually say the very same about theirs. What is true however is that the right sauce for the pasta that you are choosing is the one that you think of first. Read more Italian traditional food related articles here
