One of the first things that you will learn when it comes to cooking Italian is that you need to
be schooled on the fine art of herbs and spices. These are like the main players in an event, as they will adjust
the taste to how you tailor it with the use of these items.
You can alter the taste of the dish greatly, or merely accent it the choice is yours. Whatever
you decide to do with the herbs and spices, you will want to be sure that they are all compatible in taste and
consistency.
Mixing certain herbs and spices together can have an effect that you were not expecting, and
this can actually ruin the meal. Pay close attention to any recipe that you may be using, and if you like to
experiment with a little more just be sure that you do it with great care and moderation.
Start Simple And See Results
If you are going to try cooking Italian, you will want to start simple at first. Never try to
tackle the most difficult recipe in the book, as you will not have the knack for when it is enough or too much.
Things can go wrong very quickly when you are cooking within this culture, as there is a great emphasis on
vegetables and small meaningful ingredients that complete the bigger picture.
