A great way to make everyone smile is by offering small sweet tarts made with custard and fruit on top. Usually you will find small tarts with sweet custard in the middle, and glazed berries or strawberries on the top. This is always a great way to get the guests to offer compliment, and you have better be sure that you have enough for each guest to have a few each.

You can find these little tarts of delight at your local Italian bakery, or if you are feeling adventurous you can try and make these tarts yourself. This will have the guests talking and you will surely be the host with the most. This will easily help dispel the belief that Italian meals are solely consistent of pasta and breads.

In Italy ice cream is known a gelato, and you can find this treat in just about every region in one fashion or another. What is always the same with this dish however, is that it is always done the old fashioned way.

The Italians do not believe in rushing food to maturity, and gelato is no exception to this rule. You will find a plethora of flavors and colors to choose from, and by the time you have made up your mind someone will introduce you to a new flavor all over again.
