Panna Cotta

Panna Cotta is a Piedmont
speciality
Panna Cotta translates as "cooked cream" and is a speciality of the Piedmont
region of Northern Italy. It is a traditional Italian food dessert recipe dish that will nicely round off any meal.

Serves: 6
Ingredients:
1 cup whole milk
pinch of salt
1 tbsp powdered gelatin (unflavoured)
3 cups whipping cream
1/3 cup honey
1 tbsp sugar
2 cups assorted fresh berries
Method:
1. Pour the milk in a small bowl.
2. Sprinkle the gelatin over the milk.
3. Let the milk and gelatin stand for 3 to 5 minutes until the gelatin is softened.
4. Pour milk and gelatin mixture into a heavy saucepan.
5. Place saucepan over a medium heat.
6. Heat the milk and gelatin mixture until the gelatin dissolves but the milk does not boil,
about 5 minutes.
7. Add the whipping cream.
8. Add the honey.
9. Add the sugar.
10. Add the pinch of salt.
11. Stir entire mixture until the sugar dissolves, about 7 minutes.
12. Remove from the heat.
13. Pour into mould.
14. Allow to cool for about 20 minutes.
15. Once cooled, place in the refrigerator.
16. Refrigerate until set, this will take at least 6 hours.
17. Decorate with the assorted fresh berries.
18. Serve the panna cotta.
